Welcome to the basics, Folks.
(Grab a seat, you're in for a long ride)
So, what is Visual Design anyway?
Visual design is the use of imagery, color, shapes,
typography, and form to enhance usability and improve the user experience.

(Wow, thats a lot of fancy words...) |
In simpler English, its basically eye-catching stuff in a material.
Okay... and its important because?
Well simply put, its not exactly important in terms of vital as in "all living things need oxygen to survive" important but more of a "you gotta go to school to do well in life" kind of important. See? Both important but not as equally significant.
Anyways, visual design focuses on the aesthetics of a site
and its related materials by strategically implementing images, colours, fonts,
and other elements (we said that already, we know). Frankly, you can use materials that are pale and dark and sad like how they ended Logan, with Wolverine dying and all (sorry for the spoiler). But, come one, no one likes that. Thus Visual Design waltzes in, carrying its rainbows and what not. Again, tadaaa...
A successful visual design does not take away from
the content on the page or function. Instead, it enhances it by engaging
users and helping to build trust and interest in the brand.
